Bees and insects are important to farming, as they pollinate all blossoming and flowering plants, including pumpkins.  Honeybees generally swarm in the Spring in efforts to find a new home, and do not usually pose a threat to people.  Obviously, one must take precautions if he or she has sensitivity to stings.  At Sharp Farms, the hives are not accessible to the visiting public.  As with any outside area, however, bugs and insects can be found.  It's nature!
